Hello, and welcome to my little corner of the internet. I’m Janice and I write sensual, emotional and heartwarming romances for Harlequin Mills and Boon (HMB) Historicals. My first novel, Mary and the Marquis, was published on 1st August 2014.
I love to write stories set in the same Regency world and so, although all my books are standalone reads, many of them include book-hopping characters.
As a child, I loved to write stories – usually about animals – and I told anyone who would listen that I wanted to be an author when I grew up. Somehow, that early ambition was lost during those awkward teenage years, but I never lost my love of reading, and my fascination with history, and with the Regency period in particular, was fuelled by the novels of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer. There was something about those sexy alpha males on horseback (I was a big fan of Westerns too!) that never failed to set my heart racing!
After a hectic life as a farmer’s wife and mother of two, my desire to create my own stories resurfaced and I began to write. I am a member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association and, through their excellent New Writers’ Scheme, my third attempt at a Regency romance for HMB – Mary and the Marquis – was accepted for publication, thus fulfilling my childhood ambition.
When not writing, I enjoy reading, swimming, pottering about the garden when the sun is shining, and travelling whenever I can. I fuel my imagination with endless cups of coffee, am far too keen on unhealthy food, and I am also an expert procrastinator!
